I've heard that some people have trouble recording their promos so i've decided to make this little tutorial to try and make it easier and faster for you to make promos. I'm not saying this is the ultimate way but this is ''A'' way to do it. So here's what i usualy do. I'm gonna try to make this as clear as possible. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
1. Download ''Audacity''
This is a very useful audio program and it's completely free. I used it for many many things: editing/mixing songs, do arena effects for entrance themes, make ads for when i was hosting an internet radio show and, of course, record promos.
2. Download ''LAME''
This is a plugin for Audacity that allows you to export in whatever format you want. Personally i like to encode my things in MP3.
3. Begin recording
As simple as ''hello!'', the interface is really great. You can press the Record button on top of the screen, or press ''Shift+R'' to begin or pause the recording.
4. Fix the mistakes
What i really like about this program is how easy it is to erase some parts without re-recording your promo over and over again. If you made a mistake, simply select the ''straight bar'' option to highlight the part you want to erase. When you've selected the part you want to erase, simply press the ''Del'' button on your keyboard.
5. Save your promo
Once you are satisfied with your promo, simply click the ''Files'' button on the upper left corner and then select the ''Export'' button. Then, select the emplacement and the encoding of your promo (i strongly suggest MP3 but i think .wav can do the trick too). ET VOILA! I advise you to try to open your new save file before closing Audacity to see if everything sounds right. You can now close the program. You can even save your work!
